JOHN Lennon's half sister Julia Baird dropped in for the opening of
the new Beatles themed city hotel.

The Hard Days Night finally opened its doors for business yesterday
and was fully booked for the weekend.

The four-star £17m hotel has 110 rooms, each named after a Beatles
song or someone connected with the band, and two exclusive Lennon and
McCartney suites that include a white piano and a knight's suit of armour.

It was created in the Grade II listed Central Buildings on North John Street.

There is also a restaurant named after the Sgt Pepper artist Sir
Peter Blake, a brasserie, two bars and a wedding chapel.

There was a musical welcome, with a busker greeting guests and music
throughout the evening.
