In roughly six weeks, the 40th anniversary of the Woodstock Music and
Art Fair will be celebrated.
The Poughkeepsie Journal, and the company that owns the Journal,
Gannett, have an interactive Web site
http://woodstock.historybeat.com with photographs, original
documents, music and video, dedicated to the Woodstock experience.
Woodstock.HistoryBeat.com provides a forum for those who were at
Woodstock, wish they had been at Woodstock or are just curious, to
communicate with each other; and a place to post photos and memories,
listen to music from Woodstock, watch video interviews and view
original documents from the incredible, logistical process undertaken
to secure a location and make it work for Woodstock.
But more than just being a Web site about Woodstock, this Web site is
about you: the baby boomer who was there; the idealist who embraces
the timeless values of peace and hope; and the music lover who enjoys
a searing guitar lead from Carlos Santana, or aching howl from Janis Joplin.
Welcome to woodstock.history beat.com. We've been waiting for you.
