The Golden Notebook bookstore on Tinker Street in Woodstock July 18
will mark the release of a new book about Woodstock, called, " Roots
of the Woodstock Festival: The Backstory to Woodstock," edited by
Weston and Julia Blelock.

At 5 p.m., the editors will present highlights from the book and
discuss the Woodstock Soundouts of the 1960s, local music
performances that Woodstock promoter Michael Lang has credited with
inspiring him to hold the Woodstock Music and Art Fair in 1969. At 6
p.m., there will be a book signing and the group Naked will perform.

The folks behind the book will also stage a concert, on Aug. 15, the
40th anniversary of Woodstock, at the Bearsville Theater. The Dave
Mason Band, Hubert Sumlin, Peppy Castro and Ellen McIlwaine will perform.

Tickets cost $55 for reserved seats and $45 for general admission and
are on sale now. Visit www.bearsvilletheater.com or call 845-679-4406
