Black Panther co-founder to speak at UM

Bobby Seale, co-founder of the Black Panther Party, will present a
lecture starting at 6 p.m. Thursday at the University of Mississippi
in Oxford comparing current and former protest movements.

The free, public event will be held in the Gertrude C. Ford Ballroom
at The Inn.

Seale will compare the protest tactics of the 1960s with today's activism.

He is the keynote speaker for the Ole Miss NAACP Chapter's "Know Your
History" series.

Seale is the organizer of the REACH Foundation, created to educate
the public about civil-rights era groups.

He will be available after his lecture to autograph his books,
including "Seize the Time," and DVDs such as the 90-minute
documentary "Public Enemy," in which he is featured.
