CRANFORDThe Friends of the Cranford Public Library will present
legendary New York disc jockey and author Pete Fornatale for a
program celebrating the recent 40th anniversary of the Woodstock
Music and Arts Festival.

The program will take place on Tuesday, April 6, at 7:30 p.m. at the
Cranford Community Center, 220 Walnut Avenue. Fornatale, the host of
"Mixed Bag" on WFUV and XM Radio, will talk about his latest book,
"The Story of Woodstock: Back to the Garden."

The book features a wide assortment of first-hand personal accounts
describing the events leading up to and occurring during the weekend
when more than half a million people gathered in upstate New York for
a now legendary concert festival. For America's counter-culture,
Woodstock became a symbol of more than just sex, drugs and rock and
rollit was a huge declaration and celebration of peace, love and a
new way of living.

Fornatale will read and discuss passages from his book. His
accompanying multimedia program will include rare audio clips and
video footage of the festival, as well as clips of media broadcasts
about the event. Fornatale will have copies of "The Story of
Woodstock" available for purchase and for signing. Admission is free
and all are welcome.
